This chapter shall apply to passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, trailers (except pole trailers and trailer converter dollies) and motorcycles, and to lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment for replacement of like equipment on vehicles to which this chapter applies. This chapter specifies requirements for original and replacement lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment necessary for signaling and for the safe operation of motor vehicles during darkness and other conditions of reduced visibility.
